Treat life like a startup
A college student is like a startup in many ways. Both share similar sleeping habits and questions of growth. Both are concerned with questions like, “How am I going to make money?” and “Is anyone going to hire (invest) in me?” College students and startups are constantly trying to market themselves. They need to have a pristine resume or an amazing 30-second pitch about what they do and what sets them apart. Both follow the advice of mentors and are often trying to find out who they really are.
College students should treat life like a startup. Take a little risk. Explore unchartered places. Set short-term and long-term goals. College is the perfect time for growth. Try something new every week and see if it works. Maybe even try a lean startup approach. See what’s scalable and sustainable over the long-term.
Invest time and hard work into your “startup” now and chances are you’ll find someone that is willing to invest in you.
